Wake Forest University wins NCAA soccer championship

Wake Forest University, located in Winston Salem North Carolina, won the National Championship in soccer, Sunday December 16 2007. Wake Forest, a small university in the ACC, and better known for its basketball teams, won it’s first national soccer title. However, it has 3 field hockey titles, 3 men’s golf titles and 1 baseball title. Zack Schilawski, who made the winning goal, grew up a short distance from SAS Soccer Park. The goalkeeper, Brian Edwards, played high school soccer for Providence in Charlotte.
