North Carolina is one of the fastest growing states in the US.
Many of the cities are growing fast as well, such as Charlotte, Raleigh,
Greensboro, Asheville, Wilmington as well as many others.
So where are the affordable homes? It is all a matter of perspective.
Practically all homes in NC seem like bargains to many in California.
However, there are still what I would call bargains in many parts of NC. Salisbury NC is midway between Charlotte and Greensboro. It is only about an hour drive to Charlotte Douglas International Airport or
Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, which is home to
the new Skybus hub. Salisbury in located on Interstate 85 and the highway going through Salisbury rivals that of much larger cities.
Salisbury has the shopping you need, movie theatres and a VA
Hospital. Anything you cannot find in Salisbury is just a short drive away.
Housing is affordable and there are also quite a few old and historic
homes. Salisbury is also rich in history and was the home of Daniel
Boone before he moved to Kentucky and the birthplace of Elizabeth Dole.
I will continue to write about great places to live in NC and will even
tell you how to get an affordable home at the coast.
