I am sitting in Dilworth Coffee Shop, drinking great coffee and accessing the internet for free and just realized that I failed to mention the free internet access earlier. What triggered this memory was watching some geese walk through the parking lot. I sometimes see traffic pause in Greensboro and Charlotte to let geese cross [...]

One of the things I missed the most when I moved to Charlotte from Greensboro, was Tate Street Coffee Shop. I generally avoid restaurants that are part of chains and prefer smaller non corporate looking coffee shops. I found a coffee shop near where I live, Dilworth Coffee Shop in Quail Corners Shopping Center. First [...]

What do board games, rocket science, chess and chinese checkers have in common? I can think of numerous links, including high level neural processes. One of my favorite expressions is “I am not a rocket scientist”. I may have used this expression several years ago when I was having a conversation with my good friend [...]

North Carolina was the first state to be colonized by Europeans and was one of the original 13 colonies. Naturally, NC is rich in history. Drive through many cities in NC and eventually you will run across one of the many historical markers. Many people know that O’Henry and Edward R Murrow were born in [...]

Charlotte may get more snow than northern areas such as Greensboro. It is looking like 1-4 inches in the Charlotte area with more snow southeast of Charlotte. According to Terri Bennett, it will be cold enough at all levels of the atmosphere and the temperature will begin dropping Saturday. For more information:

More snow is on the way to Charlotte and North Carolina for the second time in 2 days. Seems like mother earth is ignoring all the “expert” talk on global warming as she did hurricane forecasts for the past several years. I have lived in NC all of my life and seen cycles of weather within [...]

We were in Greensboro Tuesday, January 15 2008, when Skybus Airlines began their first hub flight from Greensboro NC to Portsmouth NH. The flight took off at 5:45 AM and was about half full. 750 passengers were scheduled to fly out of Greensboro Tuesday. The Portsmouth NH airport is just north of Boston MA. We [...]

Travel in NC is typically not a problem. However, we do get snowfalls (occasionally big snowfalls), hurricanes and some traffic problems, so I decided to provide information on webcams in North Carolina.
